Оfferings

Most often the offerings are voluntary. Sometimes they are accepted as payment for entering to the Sacred places (for example, Wat Khao Hua Jook pagoda) or landmarks (for example, Overlapping stone). Amounts start at 20 baht and do not exceed 100 baht.
In some places, offerings are accepted in the form of coins. Coins are put in the imprint of the Buddha’s foot or tourists try to throw them in special pots located in a pond on a floating raft. Such attraction is near the statue of the Black Monk on Bo Phut. Most of the temples in Thailand are built using the offerings of residents and tourists. As a rule, these temples are long-term construction. But in the end, they are always finished. During the time that work is underway on the object, the residents and visiting foreigners have the opportunity to contribute to the creation of a house of worship or a stupa with the relics of the Saint. Thais believe that a person making offerings can conquer a bad fate, earns piety and good fortune in life.
